Description Block 6

Author Unknown. Date: ca. 1510. This is a very early block known as the "Wound Man" or "Wounded Man." It is an early version of an image printed in many different editions through the 16th century. Most well known is that printed by Paracelsus (1493-1541) in his book, "Der Grossenn Wundartzney, das erst Buch" in the 1530s.  The Wound Man shows all the ways an individual could get injured as an introduction to the topic of how to treat these wounds.  There is a club, sword, knife, and many other weapons. Plus a snake and scorpion for good measure! this block is from the earliest part of the 16th century and could possibly even be late 15th century!
